SOUND, MANTRA, AND MOVEMENT
IN-PERSON PRESENTATION AT ST. GEORGE'S EPISCOPAL, 4600 ST. CHARLES, NOLA
Presenter: Jungian Analyst Jennifer Embry
We live surrounded by inner and outer soundscapes in this modern world that affect us for better or worse. This experience continues to be intensified through sound bites, ear pods, and artificial intelligence. By considering sound as a mediator to the archetypal field, what wisdom does Jungian psychology give us to discern and adjust its impacts on our bodies and psyches? This lecture will be an experiential weaving through Jung’s words to be listened to and moved through in the form of mantra. The intention is that the energy of his words will encourage embodiment for more balance and discernment. The experience is designed to
stimulate the right and left hemispheres of the brain and engage mind/body/soul/Spirit. We will look at how sound can provide a voice through the body in dreams and alchemically pave a pathway for the transcendent function, aiding the individuation process.
